What is a MAG Box?
MAG boxes are dedicated IPTV set-top boxes manufactured by Infomir. They’re one of the most reliable ways to watch IPTV because they’re purpose-built for the task — unlike a Firestick or Smart TV app, a MAG box runs the IPTV interface natively. Popular models in Ireland include the MAG 322, MAG 420, MAG 524, and MAG 544.
What You Need Before You Start
To set up your MAG box with IPTVIreland you need: your MAG box and its remote, an HDMI cable connected to your TV, an ethernet cable connected to your router (recommended) or your Wi-Fi password, and your IPTVIreland subscription portal URL and MAC address.
Step 1: Find Your MAG Box MAC Address
Your MAG box has a unique MAC address that identifies it. You can find this in two ways: it’s printed on a sticker on the bottom of the device, or you can find it in the MAG box menu under Settings → System Information.
Send this MAC address to your IPTVIreland provider — they’ll use it to activate your subscription on the device.
Step 2: Configure Your MAG Box Portal
Turn on your MAG box and wait for it to boot. Navigate to: Menu → Settings → System Settings → Servers → Portals. In the Portal 1 URL field, enter the portal URL provided by IPTVIreland. Leave the Portal 1 Name as anything you like (e.g., « IPTVIreland »). Press OK to save and then restart the MAG box.
Step 3: Your Channels Load Automatically
After the MAG box restarts, it will connect to the IPTVIreland portal and automatically load your full channel list. This takes 1-3 minutes. Once loaded, you’ll see all your channels organised by category — Irish channels, sports, entertainment, international, and VOD.
Troubleshooting MAG Box Issues
If channels aren’t loading, check that your MAG box is connected to the internet (either ethernet or Wi-Fi). If you see « Portal Error », double-check the portal URL — even one wrong character will prevent it from connecting. Contact IPTVIreland support via WhatsApp for immediate help.
